Today is Monday or Tuesday, I honestly can not remember....The kids and I have been in the apartment for three days with little to no outside time! It has been raining for three days pretty much all day. Thank God we live in a spacious penthouse apartment, almost 3000 sq ft. Five bedrooms and four baths and three, yes three, patios. We are the first to live here and the apartment was basically a concrete shell and they finished it for us. It is beautiful with hardwood and marble flooring and alls the bells and whistles of a ROCKSTAR's apartment but we have discovered, NOT water proof! The rain has been coming in multiple places. Asia's room is leaking by the window and her patio door. The second floor has leaks by it's patio and the bedroom windows, pretty much every where water can come in, it does! The relocation company is delivering our stuff today so being inside is not so bad. However, the neighbors have felt the need to come up and tell us it's raining and the water is leaking into their apartments. The first time a woman came up, Jimmy who speaks english and works for Santa Fe told the woman to contact the office of the complex because we had already told them about the issues. She went on her merry way after saying a few more things in Manadrin to me I did not understand. So I smiled and said, "ok". I could have been agreeing to give Javi to her since he is blonde with Green eyes and they love little boys with blonde hair and light eyes(since everyone here is brown hair with brown eyes or my favorite, dyed orange hair with color contacts ) I would have not known but since she did not take Javi with her, I am assuming it was something more about the leaks. Then awhile later as we were unpacking and checking in boxes, a man walked into our home. I smelled smoke and was like, "OH NO, GET OUT OF MY HOUSE IF YOU ARE SMOKING! YOU DID NOT JUST WALK INTO MY HOUSE WITH A CIGARETTE??" Jimmy immediately addressed the issue by telling the man to get out with the cigarette, he proceeded to put it out on my door mat and then let himself back into the home. Jimmy again told the man we had let the office know and he needed to call them...he went way after saying probably the same things to me that the previous neighbor had said. Finally, a third neighbor had come up to tell me something about the rain and the leaking. REALLY??? there is rain and water leaking? I had no idea...by this time, I just listened and watched her go from room to room to show me where the water was leaking in her apartment. I again said, "ok" but instead of stopping there, I proceeded to tell her in English all about it! she immediately lifted her hands up and shook her head like she did not understand. I laughed and said, "I know like I do not understand what you have been saying to me but I listend still so could ya do the same for me since I had been dealing with this type of situation all day?!" we both laughed and she left...so interesting how she expected me to understand her but did not think she should have to listen and try to understand me. I guess we do that in the US all the time huh?
Thank Goodness tomorrow school starts come rain or shine, that's all I could think of at the end of this day!
